Kintsugi Hope Wellbeing Groups

Kintsugi Logo

Kintsugi is a Japanese technique for repairing pottery with seams of gold.  The word means 'golden joinery' in Japanese.  This repairs the brokenness in a way that makes the object more beautiful, and even more unique, than it was prior to being broken.  Instead of hiding the scars, it makes a feature of them.

Kintsugi Hope is an organisation inspired by this picture of bringing beauty out of brokenness, whose vision is to see every individual find safety and support without shame, discovering their true worth and confidence through a deep understanding of God's unconditional love.  They want to see communities where wellbeing flourishes and clear pathways to ongoing support are accessible to all, empowering each person to overcome challenges and live with renewed hope and purpose

Kintsugi Hope Wellbeing Groups provide a safe and supportive environment where you can share your struggles, gain valuable insights and develop practice tools to enhance your wellbeing.  Through a combination of group discussions, activities and peer support, people find the strength and resilience to navigate life's challenges with confidence.

Jubilee Church runs regular Wellbeing courses and a Wellbeing Cafe.

The next Kinsugi Wellbeing course starts on Monday 8th June at the Jubilee Centre for 6 weeks from 8.00pm until 9.30pm (there will be a break over the summer, which will be confirmed with the group or send an email to check dates).

There is a Wellbeing Cafe on the last Sunday of each month at the Jubilee Centre from 3.30pm to 5.00pm with the opportunity to chat over tea and cake.

Please contact either Jackie Mills or Andy Lettington if you are interested in finding out more at wellbeing@jubileechurch.co.uk.

Planning your Visit

A Warm Hello

The following information is specifically for those planning a visit, so that you know what to expect on a Sunday morning.

Where and When

We meet at the Jubilee Centre, 157 Southlands Road, Bromley (details here) for our Sunday Service starting at 10:00am. For your first visit, we recommend arriving a few minutes early to ensure you get a parking space and find somewhere to sit before the service begins. When you arrive, you should be greeted by someone from our Welcome Team who will be at the entrance.

Accessibility: There is wheelchair access, and a sound loop for anyone who needs it. Please let one of the Welcome Team know on your arrival and they will help you to get set up. There is a disabled toilet in the corridor outside the main hall.

Our Service

You can expect a warm welcome, meaningful worship, and an encouraging message as we explore the Bible together and discover what Jesus has to say to us today. We believe God is present and active, and we create space to listen, reflect, and be inspired.

Children and young people stay with their parent or carer at the start of the service for the welcome and a couple of songs, as we really value worshipping God together as a church family. When it’s time for the children’s and young people’s groups to begin, this will be announced. If you’re visiting for the first time and your child or young person would like to join a group, our children’s worker, Jess, will take a few basic details from you.

Our children’s groups are age-appropriate and activities vary, but typically include a mix of Bible stories, prayer, music, craft, drama, fun games and free play.

We aim to finish the service at around 11.15am with information and notices, after which the children and young people will return to join you. Refreshments are available straight after the service, and there is sometimes an opportunity to receive prayer at the end if you would like.

If you have any questions or queries about the building or the service, please contact our Senior Leader, Derek Holl:  derek.holl@jubileechurch.co.uk

Children's Groups

The following groups are available:
  • Creche (0 months to 3 years). Children under 6 months are welcome but must be accompanied by their parent/grown-up at all times.
  • Primary age group (3-11 years)
  • Young People (12+ years) who occasionally stay in the service
The groups provide a safe space for children to explore faith and connect with God.

We are keen to support families as they grow in faith together, helping children and young people to realise their value and the part they play in God’s Big Plan for the world!

If you have any queries about the groups, please contact: jess@jubileechurch.co.uk
