My life to date

With the exception of a 6 month trip to the USA I have lived in Bromley all my life. I remember responding to the gospel at a baptism service when I was 10 years old and have had a passion about following Jesus ever since. I left School at 16 and began a career in telecommunications. In the early 1990s I changed careers and moved into Human Resources where I have worked ever since. I am married to Clare who has been my best friend since I was 20 and God has given us two very special and lovely daughters, Katie & Joanna. I have a desire to see Jesus shared with the community at large and work in Recess as an expression of that passion. I am a bit of a computer geek, enjoy cooking and drinking wine, hanging out with friends and, when I get time, travelling, reading, watching movies and more recently canoeing!

Where were you before? Southborough Baptist Church.

How long in leadership? Around 14 years.

One good thing about being a leader? It is an opportunity to influence.

What 4 words would Clare suggest best describe you? Workaholic, Exasperating, Caring & Tiring.

Favourite Bible passage or book? Joshua 14:10-12 and Psalm 139:1-24.

Favourite Film? Lord of the Rings (all three) or Heat.

Favourite author/book? Long Walk to Freedom (Nelson Mandela’s biography)

Favourite music/artist? Bruce Springsteen

Favourite food? Tuna steak.

Favourite way of relaxing? Cooking, eating with friends & watching movies.

Somewhere you'd like to visit? New Zealand.

Famous person (alive or dead) you'd most like to meet and the question you'd most like to ask? Nelson Mandela. How has God influenced your life?

The most significant influence that's affected Jubilee over your time here? The Holy Spirit.

How, or for what, would you most like to be remembered over your time in Leadership? That I was able to contribute to the lifting up of the name of Jesus and to see His Kingdom come in Southlands Road and beyond.
