The SDK crew took 9 kids away to the Lambourne End Centre in Essex for a weekend of camping, fun, games, laughter and lots of rain!! The weekend started with night walks and followed on with a very wet and muddy low ropes course, some fantastic shelter building which could appear on Location, Location, Location very soon and some very cold swimming in an unheated pool. Thrown into the mix were some sessions about "Faith" looking at what we can do with that small word.
The kids had a fantastic time, obviously enjoying the big activities like the low ropes course, but having a great time on Steve "Attenborough" Palmer's nature walk on the Saturday night. They also learnt how to cook potatoes and egg on a camp fire and how to build paper boats. For more information about SDK come along to the Jubilee Centre on a Friday night during term time from 6 - 7.30pm. |
