... the Jubilee Church Club for young people aged 11 to 18.

We meet between 8.00 - 10.00 pm on Friday nights during term time and our activities are usually based in the Jubilee Centre.

Your questions answered...

What happens at Recess? Nintendo Wii, X-Box, table tennis, pool, football, occasional outings to bowling, over at Whitehall Rec park.  Part of the evening will usually include a structured time of activities e.g. competitions, discussions usually based on social or moral issues and given from a Christian perspective.  Twice a year we also hold a lock-in where we sleep overnight at the centre and watch films, play games, chat and it ends with a cooked breakfast.

Who is in charge?  All leaders at Recess are volunteers belonging to Jubilee Church.  We are all CRB checked.

What does it cost?  £1 per week

How do I join?  Turn up and you will be given some forms to take away (see below) and get filled out by your parent/guardian.  Alternatively you can email Derek for more information (Recess@jubileechurch.co.uk).

Do I have to be a Christian or join the church?  No, whilst we retain the right to talk about our faith, why we do what we do and share God's love, we do not expect anyone who joins the club to believe in God or attend church.

Is there a limit on numbers?  Yes, we operate a first come, first served basis and allow up to 35 young people to be there on any one night.

If you want to find out more then why not download our Welcome Pack.  You can also download our consent form and equal opportunities form.

You can see the current Recess Programme here.

Email Derek at Recess@jubileechurch.co.uk if you would like to attend - or just come along!
